European Winter

We travel this whole world
And know many places
Seeking for something to join in
And get some awareness
But there is no place
In this world, lord
There will never be a place
Like home

Knees down, praying silently
Just trying to get some peace and comfort to our minds
But we’re in the road, honey, and mamma is not here close to us
To calm us down and sing a lullaby
To make us some coffee and lecture before we’re going out
To bring us the forgiveness that only mothers have

And we will grow up someday, sometime
Leaving all the kids that exist in us forever behind
We’ll love people, we’ll make love and we’ll fight us up
Because life ain’t changing
It’ll never change, baby

So drink this red wine while you can
Tomorrow’s too far and we don’t know if we’ll be here yet
We’re in the road, honey…
And this road takes us too far
Too far from mamma
Or papa, or grandma and grandpa

And all this time we’re only searching for something
Sometimes we don’t even know what it is
But for me it’s far too clear now
We’re only looking for home, sweetheart
And we’ve lost it somehow

And no matter how many houses we have now
Or how many cars and people ‘round us
We’re all going to drop it, anyway
And let it pass, try to find another way

But all we’re trying to find is in the past
Somewhere we could find some really rest
And, baby, it’s not a house or a car, or a posh drink
It’s called “home”, baby
It’s where mama’s waiting for us
